Work-related stress is a growing problem around the world that affects not only the health and well-being of employees, but also the productivity of organizations and the social development at large. Occupational Safety and Health Council commissioned The Lingnan University to undertake a study on occupational stress and its social and economic implication. This study includes a large-scale, cross-sectional survey, by interviewing employees from different sectors (including construction and catering industry etc.), to investigate the occupational stress among Hong Kong employees from the perspective of social and economic impact. The Occupational Safety and Health Council will hold a seminar on 9 October 2019, at which Professor Siu Oi Ling, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Chair Professor of Applied Psychology, Lingnan University Hong Kong, will explain occupational stress, its social and economic implication and share the findings with the audience.
