Online Seminar on Manual Handling Operations and Prevention of Back Injuries in the Hospitality Industry

Practitioners in the hospitality industry often perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting luggage and cleaning rooms as part of their daily operations. Incorrect postures can easily lead to back strains or injuries. To raise the industry's awareness of proper manual handling operations and back injury prevention, the Catering & Hospitality Services Safety and Health Committee organizes an online seminar on 3 February 2026, during the seminar Nursing Officer from the Labour Department will address the causes and preventive measures of back injuries, as well as proper manual handling operations, while the Consultant from the Council will introduce simple and effective stretching exercises.
Enrolment will be closed on 29 January 2026 (Thursday). All are welcome.

Login and logout time of your Zoom account for the seminar is one of attendance requirements. Confirmation email with online seminar link and details will be sent to successful applicants.
