Chemical Safety Conference 2026 - Safe Use of Hazardous Chemicals and Catering Industry’s Flammable Substances [Attend in person]
In our daily lives and workplaces, we may come into contact with various chemicals and substances, such as charging lithium batteries, using liquefied petroleum in restaurants, or handling chemical waste in laboratories. Improper use / handling can easily lead to accidents. The Chemical Safety & Health Advisory Committee of OSHC will organise the "Chemical Safety Conference" on 30 March 2026 (Monday). The theme of the conference would be "Safe Use of Hazardous Chemicals and Catering Industry’s Flammable Substances”. Representatives from government departments and Tertiary Institutions Safety Advisory Group would share practical experience and key points on safety and health.

- Safe Use of Lithium Batteries (Mr. Chan Ming Hin, Sr Station Offr (Dangerous Goods Leg), Fire Services Department)
- Risks in Handling Chemical Waste in Laboratories and Related Accident Prevention Measures (Dr. Sam Tung, Head (Chemical and Laboratory Safety),Tertiary Institutions Safety Advisory Group)
- Safety of Gas Appliances in the Catering Industry (Mr. Wong Yu Hong, Engr/Gas Safety, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department)
- Safety of Using Flammable Substances in the Catering Industry (Mr. Cham Ming Fan, Sr Station Offr (Lic), Fire Services Department)
Target audience: Safety practitioners, catering industry workers, laboratory personnel, and anyone who needs to handle chemicals.
Deadline for enrolment is 23 March 2026 (Monday). All are welcome.
Seats are limited and registration will be made on a first-come-first-served basis. On-site registration will not be available. A statement of attendance is available for this Conference. Successful registrants will receive a confirmation email.
