Online Open Seminar on Psychological Safety in the Workplace Enhancing Organisational Safety Culture and Job Performance

CPD unit under Hong Kong Safety and Health Certification Scheme: 1.5

Psychological safety refers to a work environment in which employees can express their views with confidence, without fear or concern about being blamed or punished. A higher level of psychological safety helps encourage employees to speak up proactively, put forward bold ideas, seek assistance when needed, and actively participate in their work, thereby enhancing team creativity and overall performance. Conversely, in workplaces that lack psychological safety, employees often refrain from reporting potential hazards or near-miss incidents for fear of being held accountable or punished, choosing instead to remain silent, allowing risks to remain hidden for a long time and thus missing opportunities to eliminate these risks at an early stage. To enhance the understanding of psychological safety among occupational safety and health professionals, human resources practitioners, and management personnel, the Occupational Safety and Health Council will hold an online public seminar on 20 January 2026. At the seminar, the speakers will introduce the main factors that influence psychological safety and explain how supervisors can build trust, foster a culture of open and respectful communication, and avoid inappropriate management behaviours, in order to enhance psychological safety in the workplace and team engagement, thereby strengthening the organisation’s safety culture and the effectiveness of accident prevention.

Enrolment will be closed on Friday, 16 January 2026. All are welcome.

Applicants must provide email address for getting the statement of attendance. Individual email address used for enrolment should be same as the email address used to login your Zoom account.
